Get answers to common questions about AI virtual try-on. Learn how it works, pricing, privacy, and more. Your complete guide to TryOnWise.
Virtual Try-On
How does virtual try-on work? You upload a photo of yourself and a photo of a garment, and AI renders the garment onto your body, matching your proportions, pose, and lighting.
Does virtual try-on tell me my size? No. Virtual try-on shows appearance, silhouette, and proportion. It does not measure your body, so you still need the size chart for the numbers.
Can I try on clothes from any store? Yes. Because TryOnWise works from any product image you can save, it is not limited to one retailer's catalogue the way a store's built-in fitting room is.
Can I use my own clothing photos? Yes. You can upload a photo of any clothing item you want to try on, alongside the curated Featured Collection.
Can I try on glasses and accessories? Yes, glasses and sunglasses render well because they sit on a fixed point of the face. Live AR in a retailer's app is the other good option for eyewear.
Photos & Quality
What photo works best for virtual try-on? A full-body photo taken straight on at chest height, in even natural light, against a plain background, wearing fitted clothing with your arms slightly away from your body.
What photo formats are supported? JPG, PNG, and WEBP. For best results use clear, well-lit photos at good resolution showing the area where the clothing will be worn.
What if the result looks wrong? Almost every poor result traces back to the input photo. Re-shoot straight on in even light with arms away from your body, and use the highest-resolution garment image available.
Privacy & Safety
Is it safe to upload my photo? Your photos are processed securely, are not shared with third parties, and are protected with industry-standard encryption. You should still check retention and deletion terms on any tool before uploading.
Can I use AI photos on dating apps? Yes, provided they still genuinely look like you. Dating apps prohibit misleading photos rather than AI-generated ones, so the line is accuracy, not the technology.
Do AI photos still look like me? That is the design goal: TryOnWise generates realistic photos of you from your own selfie rather than an imagined person. Quality depends heavily on your input photos.
Are AI headshots acceptable for LinkedIn? Yes, when they accurately represent you. The professional standard is the same as for any profile photo: it should look like the person who turns up to the meeting.
Getting Started
How many selfies do I need? For virtual try-on, one good full-body photo is enough. For generated photo sets, a small number of clear, varied, recent selfies produces noticeably better results than a large pile of similar ones.
How long does it take to generate photos? Generation takes seconds rather than minutes, and everything runs in your browser with no app install or account setup beyond signing in.
How many credits does a try-on cost? Each generation costs one credit. Packages start at $5 for 20 credits, with a lower per-credit price at higher tiers.
Do credits expire? No. Credits never expire, so you can use them at your own pace.
Is there a free way to try on clothes online? Several free methods exist: retailer AR for eyewear, size and fit finders on large sites, and measure-and-compare, which costs nothing and is the most accurate for sizing.
